Welcome To BIG AL'S CUSTOM SCOOTERS, the home of super-cool Classic Car or Hot Rod-styled Mobility Scooter Kits.  Each kit includes your choice of a fiberglass body and a stock mobility scooter.

***YOU SPOKE AND WE LISTENED - We initially built and sold custom mobility scooters that were custom-painted to the customer's specifications and mounted to a stock mobility scooter, but many of you wanted to paint and mount the body yourself.  Most every person that has asked about Big Al offering do-it-yourself kits has been a automotive body specialist or a mechanic.  THIS MEANS THAT OUR KITS ARE DESIGNED FOR QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE THE AUTOMOTIVE BODY SKILLS AND TOOLS TO MODIFY THE FIBERGLASS BODY AND/OR THE MOBILITY SCOOTER FRAME.  If you do not have the skills and/or tools necessary, you can hire a body shop to paint and mount the body to the mobility scooter frame.

 

DO-IT-YOURSELF CUSTOM MOBILTY SCOOTER KITS - When you purchase one of our classic car or hot rod-styled mobility scooter kits, it arrives exactly as shown in the “KIT” photo.  THERE ARE NO MOUNTING FITTINGS INCLUDED.  The fiberglass body has NOT BEEN MODIFIED OR PAINTED AND HAS NOT BEEN MOUNTED to the MiniRider Lite 4-wheel mobility scooter.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE FIBERGLASS SCOOTER BODIES - All fiberglass bodies are a representation only and are not highly detailed.  The bodies are made from high quality fiberglass materials and are various scaled.  ​

 

​INFORMATION ABOUT THE MOBILITY SCOOTER - The MiniRider Lite 4-wheel mobility scooter manufactured for Big Al is our flagship stock mobility scooter product and to which EVERY classic car and hot rod fiberglass body can be mounted to.  We have chosen the MiniRider Lite for a variety of reasons including frame design and wheel size.

 

The MiniRider Lite (manufactured by EV Rider) offers the stability of a 4-wheel scooter and the turning radius of a 3-wheeler, providing the customer greater maneuverability.  With a 280 lb load capacity and 4 wheels, the MiniRider Lite  can transport higher weight individuals with stability not usually found in portable scooters.  The folding mobility seat has comfortable cushions and armrests that flip up and/or can be adjusted laterally.​

SHIPPING

Fiberglass bodies and stock mobility scooters are shipped directly from the manufacturer.  Please allow up to ten (10) business days before shipping.  Your order will likely ship quicker than 10 days but don't hesitate to contact us first if you your order is time sensitive.

 

All returns are subject to our 30-day return policy:

30-DAY RETURN POLICY:

• Fiberglass body and stock mobility scooter must be returned to our location: Hutchison Medical, 16561 North County Farm Lane, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.  All returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee - no exceptions.

• Buyer must pay for return shipping - no exceptions.

• Fiberglass body and stock mobility scooter must be returned in the original UNOPENED shipping boxes.  If the fiberglass body box and/or the stock mobility scooter box has been opened, RETURNS ARE NOT ACCEPTED AND NO REFUND WILL BE MADE.

• A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) must be requested from Big Al's Custom Scooters/Hutchison Medical within 30 days of delivery of the kit.  Once an RMA has been received, the kit must be returned within 14 days.

 

LICENSED PRODUCTS

Our fiberglass scooter bodies are not licensed products and we do not promote them as such.  Each scooter body is INDIVIDUALLY handmade, therefore an ORIGINAL and can never be mass produced.  You are paying for the technician’s time to create your scooter body by hand without the use of automated molding or any type of computer-generated devices.  Any trademark/copyright/name/character references maintain the rights of their original, respective owners.  We do not claim ownership of these references.
